Please tell us about yourself

I am a software engineer with over 10 years of experience. My main areas of expertise include .NET, C#, Microsoft Azure, and distributed systems including microservices and service-oriented architecture. I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from leading the Practical Law product at Thomson Reuters during my time at Epam, to developing a digital asset management solution for the Woman Tennis Association hosted in the cloud. I’ve also worked with Epson on creating a virtual assistant application for their Moverio Glasses and improving their internal enterprise tools.

 

What has made you decide to start working with Periplus?

What attracted me to Periplus was their expertise in hydrography and the opportunity to delve into the development of mapping applications. Given that geodata is memory intensive, I knew there would be interesting challenges to tackle. Furthermore, the domain Periplus operates in, with its focus on offshore wind farms and underwater communications, intrigued me. I was eager to understand how these systems work and the challenges faced during their installation and maintenance.

 

What are you currently working on?

Currently, I am a Senior Software Engineer on the Gridit development team at Periplus. Gridit is an interactive map that allows users to store and analyze various types of spatial geodata. It’s an exciting project that combines my interest in geodata with my technical skills.

 

Please tell us about a recent achievement in your work at Periplus?

One of my recent achievements at Periplus was implementing the files viewer for Gridit. This was a significant addition to the product, enhancing its functionality and user experience. Additionally, I have been able to resolve numerous issues with WFS and WMS layers, improving the reliability and performance of our geodata rendering.
