Side Scan Sonar Assessments - 2008
In 2008 Periplus Consultancy interpreted and processed several Side Scan Sonar [SSS] datasets. For example one of our clients, the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water management in the Netherlands, annualy surveys all the harbour approach area's to the main ports of Holland.
These SSS surveys are mainly done to map all the objects on the seafloor. The results of these investagations are used to ensure safe passage for all ships sailing to dutch harbours. SSS surveys are also used for other specific purposes, like pipeline inspections, wreck investigations, etc.
All the interpretation and processing of SSS data is done at Periplus office in Amsterdam.
