El Arish - Ashqelon Pipeline Installation Israel - 2007
Periplus Resources BV provided Client Representatives to Allseas Marine Contractors [AMC] on site in Ashqelon, Israel and El Arish, Egypt for the El Arish - Ashqelon Pipeline Installation Project.
At first the preparations started on both ends for the foundation and anchorage of the pipeline pull-in winch within an empty ballast pond at Ashqelon and on the beach area for El Arish. After that the installation and consecutive excavation of the cofferdam started.
For dredging a back-hoe barge with a hydraulic excavator was used to excavate to a minimum hopper dredging depth of approximately 7m. The hoppers finished off the remaining trench with a maximum depth of 24 m.
