Dhirubhai 1 & 3 Gas Development Project, India - 2008
At present, Periplus Resources BV is providing survey personnel to Allseas Marine Contractors [AMC] at the site office Yanam, India for the Dhirubhai 1 & 3 Gas Development Project. The project is the first deepwater gas development project in India and, on commissioning, would be among the largest and most complex deepwater gas production systems in the world.
At this moment, dredging of the trench in the estuary is finished and the pipelay vessels have started their work. The whole operation will be done between September 2007 - the end of the monsoon period - and June 2008 when the monsoon starts and the rivers flood again. Given the remote location, this project will be a major challenge for all parties involved.
