Service contract Hydrographical Data processing - Feb 2011
Rijkswaterstaat, the executive arm of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment, awarded the service contract for the processing of hydrographical data to Periplus Consultancy B.V. Under this contract raw hydrographical data, collected by Rijkswaterstaat, are processed by Periplus Consultancy B.V.
The detection and determination of location and size of underwater objects from side scan sonar data is an important part of the activities. Together with dept soundings of waterways in the Netherlands and on the Dutch Continental Shelf, this information is translated into usable products like maps and data bases. Rijkswaterstaat uses these products to provide valuable advice that warrants the safety of navigation on the Dutch waterways.
The service contract runs from February 15, 2011 till August 31, 2012 with an optional extension of two times one year. The service contract offers the possibility to enter into sub contracts with the individual service departments of Rijkswaterstaat. This was established already with ’Dienst Noordzee’ (Directorate North Sea).
